MICHEI di MICHEI Pinot Nero IGP Vigneti delle Dolomiti 2021 – Hofstatter
Maso Michei is located in a remote high mountain area in southern Trentino. The vines grow at altitudes between 790 and 850 meters, with a sunny southern exposure. At this height above sea level – remarkable and difficult for viticulture – the vines grow slowly and the grapes ripen late. Michei di Michei Pinot Nero has a deep and dense ruby red color. Freshness and complexity dominate the taste of this Pinot Nero, which is characterized by a well balanced acidity. Rich in aromatic nuances with clear notes of wild berries, strawberries, currants and delicate undergrowth. Vinification and maturation. 75% of the grapes are separated from the stalks (branches), while 25% are poured intact into barrels. Fermentation lasts about 10 days, the must being always in direct contact with the skins. After two careful rackings, this wine matures for one year in small oak barrels, then six months in large oak barrels and finally one year in bottle.
